ATLANTICO SUR TANNAT 2021
Alcohol: 13% | Residual Sugar: 2.5 | Ph: 3.65
A coastal ripening: The Tannat grape used in Atlantico sur grows in several vineyards located in Maldonado, Canelones, and San Jose, a few kilometers from the coast. The secret of the coastal influence lies in the low temperatures during the grape’s ripening season in summer. During the day, the vineyard undergoes photosynthesis and stores nutrients in the grapes, ripening the skin and seeds at favorable temperatures below 33 degrees Celsius. The polyphenolic compounds in the skins and seeds are responsible for the color and structure of the wine. Due to their rapid maturation, we can harvest early, when the grapes have a high content of fresh aromas and balanced sugar and acidity. As a result, the wines from the Atlantic coast are balanced, with floral aromas, fresh fruit and minerals, and an enveloping texture.
A pure and fresh expression of each varietal: Atlantico sur reserve Tannat stands out for its deep violet color and fresh nose: an intense sensation of ripe red fruit ( strawberry, cherry, raspberry...) and black fruit ( blackberry, plum, blueberry...), with persistent aromas of roses and violets and a hint of fresh herbs such as matorral shrubland. This wine is ample on the palate due to its intense fruit-forward sensation and lingers by its elegant fresh
ATLANTICO SUR ALABARIÑO 2023
Alcohol: 13.5% | Residual Sugar: 2.3 | Ph: 3.09
A coastal ripening: The secret of the coastal influence lies in the low temperature during the grape ripening season in summer. As in Galicia, the freshness of the ocean allows for early harvesting of the grapes for a considerable amount of aromatic compounds and acidity, ideal for producing this saline, intense, and naturally very acidic wine.
A varietal expression: Each plot of albariño is harvested at different times of maturation, obtaining varied wines from the same vineyard. When harvesting early, the most citrusy and floral side is highlighted whereas, two weeks later, aromas of fruits like melon and peach appear. A distinct mineral profile is achieved in both vineyards. Different pressing and maceration techniques are used at the vineyard depending on the aromatic depth of the skins. After the alcoholic fermentation of each micro plot is finished, we determine the blend and store it in a tank with less where it is agitated over several months. All this favors the stability of the wine over time, maintaining the aromatic intensity which is characteristic of fresh albariños.

EXTREME VINEYARDS CERRO DEL GUAZUVIRA
Location characteristics: The vineyard is on the Guazuvira Hill, in lavalleja, just 27 km from the sea. It is an extremely stony terrain of mostly unaltered granite of volcanic origin, from 520 million yeasr ago after a cycle of intense volcanic activity at the end of the cambrian period, on the large geological fault line, “Cizalla Sarandi del Yi”. As the soil retains very little water, constant irrigation is essential. Due to the very wild and natural enviroment, there are many species of animals that are not typically found in traditional wine growing areas. This is the case ofor the small guazuvira deer, which we discovered enjoys eating vine leaves, forcing us to place a protective mesh throughtout the vineyard. This method also limits access for fruits-eating birds, who often feast on the grapes.
Sensorial Characteristics: An aroma reappears each vintage: malted barely. Additionally, fresh flowers, red fruits and notes of clay can be found. It is voluminous and fresh on the palate with firm tannins and a long finish. An avant garde wine enhanced by the atlantic ocean.
